About This Plant

Calathea Musaica Network (Goeppertia kegeljanii) is native to the tropical rainforests of South America, where it grows on shaded forest floors in warm, permanently humid conditions.

The mosaic network pattern covers every millimetre of the leaf. Unlike Calatheas with bold stripes or spots on a plain background, the Network Plant has intricate fine veining across the entire leaf surface with no plain areas.

Safe for cats and dogs. The ASPCA confirms Calathea spp. is non-toxic to cats and dogs. The Network Plant is confirmed pet-safe and a good choice for households where pets and plants share rooms. The Calathea Maranta Prayer Plant is another pet-safe prayer plant family member with active leaf movements and a very different pattern.

It is more tolerant of average indoor conditions than most Calatheas. The Network Plant is widely noted as one of the easier Calatheas to keep indoors. Its leaves are thicker than those of the Peacock Plant or Maranta, making it more tolerant of occasional dryness and lower humidity.
