I received my string of turtle today, though I ordered a small one most of the leaves look healthy and happy I kind of wish it had a few more strands but I’m going to work hard to make sure it’s happy and healthy! For winter protection they wrapped it in cotton I’m super happy with all my plants so far!

The Stromanthe Triostar was the last plant I unwrapped from my second order from mygreenscape.ca. I gasped when I saw this beautiful plant with its long leaves of dark and light pink and green. The underside of the leaves are deep pink. And it has some stripes, especially underneath. She is very healthy and has a few new leaves unfurling. All the plants were packaged up very well. How to Fix Common Plant Problems with Accessories?
That's anaerobic rot. The soil has compacted and roots can't breathe. Pull the plant out, trim anything black or mushy, and repot into a chunky soilless mix. The air pockets in the bark restore oxygen flow almost immediately.
When peat based soil dries out completely it turns hydrophobic and repels water instead of absorbing it. Replace it with a mix that has wetting agents built in, like the Connaisseur blend.
You're probably only killing adults and missing the larvae in the soil. Switch to bottom watering so the top inch stays dry, put sticky traps right above the soil line and be patient. Takes about two weeks to break the full lifecycle.
Top heavy plants in lightweight pots are an accident waiting to happen. Move them into something heavier with a low center of gravity. The ceramic holds the plant upright and looks better doing it.
