Forbidden Cereal is here to shake things up with its super-chunky vibe that looks straight out of a breakfast bowl but packs serious punch against overwatering disasters. Water drains like a dream through our blend, giving roots all the oxygen they crave to dodge root rot, droopy yellow leaves, nutrient fails, and sluggish growth. We've ditched soggy peat and soil for renewable ingredients that keep moisture in check without the headaches, plus it tweaks water to a perfect neutral pH for ideal plant fertilizer uptake.

Loaded with 8 top-shelf organic ingredients: think hand-picked, heat-treated Douglas Fir bark (Orchid Bark), a mix of fine and coarse Perlite for structure, triple-rinsed Coco Coir with fibers and chips for grip, Horticultural Charcoal (aka Biochar), nutrient-rich Worm Castings , earthy LECA Expanded Clay Balls, and premium New Zealand Sphagnum Moss.

Oh, and that moss? We keep it separate on top so you can get creative – surround the root ball, mix it in for even moisture retention, use it as a top dressing, or propagate like a pro. This mix is your go-to for every plant, inside or out.

This bag fills approximately three 6” pots and nine 4” pots.

Planting Instructions

1- Prep the Mix: Blend in sphagnum moss or save it for top dressing.
2- Soak the Mix: Slowly add water while stirring. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
3- Drain Excess Water: Mix should feel damp, not soggy.
4- Fill the Pot: Pour in Forbidden Cereal until about ⅓ full.
5- Transfer Your Plant: Gently remove the plant from its pot, loosening the roots.
6- Position & Fill: Center the plant and fill up to 1" below the rim.
7- Settle the Mix: Lightly press down, adding more mix if needed.
8- Top Dress (Optional): If saved, spread the sphagnum moss on top.
9- Water If Needed: Water lightly and let excess drain away.

Feeding: Begin nourishing your plants with fertilizer two weeks after planting.

Storage Instructions: Store in a cool, dry place. Reseal the zipper after each use to maintain freshness and optimal moisture levels. Keep away from children & pets.

4" Pot (Small): plant is approx. 6-10 inches tall. 6" Pot (Medium): approx. 12-18 inches tall. All plants come in a standard nursery pot. Decorative pots are sold separately.

Between November and March we add extra insulated packaging and heat packs to protect your plant from cold temperatures during transit. You can add winter shipping protection at checkout.
