About This Plant

Alocasia Lukiwan is a rare tropical Alocasia from the humid understorey forests of Southeast Asia. Unlike most Alocasias, the Lukiwan grows long, narrow, spear-shaped leaves in deep satiny green.

It grows up, not out. The Lukiwan's upright, narrow growth habit means it fits spots where a wider plant would not, a shelf, a narrow corner, or next to furniture where horizontal space is limited.

Keep it away from pets and children. The ASPCA confirms Alocasia spp. is toxic to cats and dogs. The leaves contain insoluble calcium oxalates that cause mouth pain, drooling, swelling, and vomiting if chewed. Keep it on a high shelf or in a room pets cannot reach.

Consistency is what it needs most. The Lukiwan needs warmth, humidity, and bright indirect light. It is sensitive to sudden environmental changes than some Alocasias.
