Like many *Monstera* species, it is a hemi-epiphyte—meaning it begins life on the forest floor and climbs up trees to seek sunlight. The term "Monstera" refers to the plant's often 'monstrous' (large) size and unusual foliage, particularly the fenestrations. The Siltepecana is particularly known for the dramatic change from its small, silvery juvenile leaves to its larger, hole-punched adult leaves once it starts to climb vertically.

To maintain its unique coloring and encourage mature growth, focus on providing bright light and stable humidity.

• **Light:** Prefers **bright, indirect light**. The brighter the light (without direct sun scorching), the more pronounced the silvery pattern will be. Low light will cause leggy growth and dull foliage.
