About This Plant

Alocasia Macrorrhiza Camouflage is a hybrid of Alocasia macrorrhiza, native to the tropical rainforests and understories of Southeast Asia. It grows large, thick, arrow-shaped leaves in a mix of dark and light green in an irregular pattern. Indoors it can reach 1.2 to 1.8 metres tall, making it a genuine floor plant.

The camouflage patterning is what makes it stand out. The irregular blotching of dark and light green across each large leaf creates a strong visual texture that reads well across a room. No two leaves have the same pattern. It works well as a floor plant in a bright corner or open living space in a Canadian home. The Alocasia Golden Dragon is another large floor Alocasia with a completely different leaf character.

Keep it away from pets and children. The ASPCA confirms Alocasia spp. is toxic to cats and dogs. The leaves contain insoluble calcium oxalates that cause mouth pain, drooling, swelling, and vomiting if chewed. Keep it in a spot that pets and small children cannot access.
