They enjoy some direct sun, but they'll also do well in bright, indirect light. It is best to place this plant somewhere where it will receive some nice morning sun, or a couple of hours of afternoon sun, and then indirect light the rest of the day.

Moon Cactus prefers indirect sunlight. A spot that gets soft morning sun or dappled light through a sheer curtain works beautifully. Harsh midday sun can damage the colorful top.

Allow the soil to mostly dry out between waterings. These cacti are drought-tolerant and don’t like sitting in wet soil, which can lead to root rot. Water sparingly, especially during the cooler months.

Moon Cactus isn’t picky about humidity. It adapts well to normal household humidity and doesn’t need misting or special conditions.

While not highly toxic, Moon Cactus can cause mild irritation if chewed. Keep out of reach from curious pets to avoid any risk.

Moon Cactus is actually two cacti grafted together — the colorful top lacks chlorophyll and relies on the green base to survive. If the top starts to fade or detach, it may need to be re-grafted onto a fresh rootstock.
