About This Plant

Dieffenbachia Camouflage is native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. It grows upright and fast, reaching 60 to 120 cm tall indoors. This plant is one of the bolder and more textured-looking Dieffenbachia varieties due to the complexity of the colour blending across each large leaf.

Visually complex than most Dieffenbachias. Where the Camille has a clean two-tone split and the Panther has bold distinct spots, the Camouflage has a full-surface mottled blend of four or more green tones that shifts across each leaf with no clear boundary. This gives the plant a more organic, textured quality that looks different from every angle and changes as the leaf matures and darkens.

Keep it away from pets and children. The ASPCA confirms Dieffenbachia spp. is toxic to cats, dogs, and horses. The leaves contain insoluble calcium oxalate crystals that cause severe oral burning, swelling, drooling, and temporary difficulty swallowing when chewed. It is one of the fastest-growing Dieffenbachias and fills a space quickly. The Camouflage puts out new leaves rapidly in the growing season and can add 30 to 45 cm of height in a single summer under good light. Growth slows significantly from November onward light levels drop. The mottled multi-tone pattern may appear less vivid in lower light. Keep temperatures above 16 degrees C, water when the top inch is dry, and keep it away from cold glass and heating vents.
