Ctenanthe Lubbersiana Golden Mosaic

Often called the "Never-Never Plant," it is loved by interior designers for its ability to provide dense, colorful foliage that fills out a space quickly. Its stems are bamboo-like, giving the plant a structured yet soft appearance that fits both modern and bohemian decors.

The Golden Mosaic thrives when its tropical roots are respected. Here is how to keep those colors vibrant:

• Light: Prefers bright to medium indirect light. Too much direct sun will scorch the leaves, while too little light may cause the golden variegation to fade.
• Water: Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy. Water when the top half-inch of soil feels dry. It is sensitive to "hard" tap water, so using filtered or rainwater is a great pro-tip!
• Humidity: Loves high humidity (50% or higher). In Canadian winters, a humidifier or a pebble tray will prevent the edges of the leaves from turning brown and crispy.
• Soil: Use a well-draining, moisture-retentive potting mix (a mix of indoor soil with perlite and peat moss works perfectly).
• Temperature: Happy in standard home temperatures (18°C–24°C). Keep it away from cold drafts or heating vents that can dry out the air.
