About This Plant

Ctenanthe lubbersiana Golden Mosaic is native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil. It grows in an upright, clumping habit reaching 40 to 70 cm tall. Compared to most Calatheas, it is forgiving of drier air and less consistent watering, while still producing the same bold tropical foliage.

The mosaic pattern is different on every leaf. Unlike Calatheas with precise geometric stripes or spots, the Golden Mosaic has large, irregular splashes of yellow and cream that cover different proportions of each leaf. Some leaves may be mostly yellow with small green patches; others are mostly green with yellow blotches.

Safe for cats and dogs. Ctenanthe is confirmed non-toxic to cats and dogs by multiple veterinary sources consistent with the Marantaceae family toxicity profile. The Golden Mosaic is pet-safe.
